What are the Benefits of APPCIOS Partnership and Affiliation?

As a Member Organisation of the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), APPCIOS provides accredited training courses with a kite mark of quality assurance which organisations can use to demonstrate their commitment to the use of psychodynamic thinking and learning.

  • APPCIOS works closely with its Partnership and Affiliate Organisations through regular liaison, support, advice and guidance. 
  • All staff members employed within Partnership and Affiliated Organisations are automatically eligible for membership of APPCIOS as Associate, Senior Associate or Full Members without payment of annual subscriptions, (unless they are independently engaged in compiling portfolios for qualification). 
  • Partnership/Affiliate Organisations are entitled to free use of the Psychodynamic Thinking Community Website - https://psychodynamicthinking.info/.   This facility allows them to:
    • Publicise their organisation’s work through publicly accessible pages
    • Store confidential documents for access by staff and trainees in private pages
    • Record confidential committee meetings on confidential pages
    • Access free discussion groups and events
    • Access the APPCIOS library
    • Advertise their own events, or recruit staff and students through our mailing lists (of 800 - 1,000 account holders)
  • Staff members of Partnership and Affiliate Organisations may  attend regular APPCIOS online Group Relations Conferences at a reduced fee;
  • Staff members of Partnership and Affiliate Organisations have priority access to our online therapeutic services;
  • Partnership and Affiliate Organisations have free access to advice from our Ethics Committee.

 

What is the difference between Partnership and Affiliation Status?

A Partnership Organisation is one which hosts a bespoke APPCIOS accredited training delivered by one or more external consultants who are Full Members of APPCIOS;  and which provides ongoing consultation and training to its staff, in the hope of bringing the organisation up to the standard where it can become an Affiliated Organisation.

An Affiliate Organisation is an organisation which fully embraces the APPCIOS psychodynamic organisational thinking modality, and is accredited by APPCIOS to run and deliver its own trainings, both in-house and beyond.

 

Affiliation Status

To become an Affiliate Organisation you need to evidence that the following conditions need have been fulfilled. 

  • Your organisation is committed to developing and maintaining a therapeutic environment through the practice of psychodynamic organisational thinking;
  • You provide in-house training and/or external trainings which have been or are eligible to be accredited by APPCIOS, and have been doing so for a minimum of four years;
  • The  practice and modality of psychodynamic organisational therapy is fully supported by the Managers/Owners of the organisation, and that all members of staff are likewise expected to support this endeavour;
  • This practice is supervised and led by at least one clinician who is either a Full Member of APPCIOS of at least five years’ post-qualification experience, or under regular supervision, or by a Senior Associate Member of APPCIOS, under regular supervision.
  • You have given due consideration to succession planning;  we would expect that at least three other members of staff are eligible for Full Membership or Senior Associate Membership of APPCIOS, and that others are planning to attain equivalent membership status.

 

What are the costs?

A Partnership Organisation arranges for a bespoke training through negotiation with an external APPCIOS consultant, and pays the consultant directly for the training they deliver.   The consultant’s fee will include an additional ongoing 15% payable to APPCIOS to cover the costs of training accreditation.

An Affiliate Organisation pays an annual fee to APPCIOS directly, currently set at £3,000pa.
