Learn the fundamentals of psychoanalysis 

These lectures and discussions will inform you of key psychoanalytic concepts, whether you are new to psychoanalysis, or wish to deepen the knowledge you already have. You will learn how they apply your learning in the consulting room and, potentially, in all walks of life. 

The lectures are jointly organised by the North of England Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and the British Psychoanalytic Society. You will hear from experienced BPAS psychoanalysts and NEAPP psychoanalytic psychotherapists in lecture or DVD format. The 2021 series starts in January 2021 and will be on Zoom.

  • Topics include Freud, prejudice, dreams, mind/body, depression, trauma and loss, plus working with children and adolescence
  • The 22 lectures and discussions are on Thursdays from 7-9pm
  • Each lecture lasts approximately one hour, including time for questions. There will be then be space for discussion
  • You will stay in the same group throughout the term, allowing you to explore the themes and deepen your understanding together
  • The cost is from £410 for the whole series
